Conservation Area

Conservation Area

Parts of Ducklington are designated a Conservation Area under the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990. This has been done to help in the preservation of the character and appearance of the village. It is not designed to prevent development but to ensure that any development is in sympathy with the local area and either enhances or preserves the specific local features. .

Inside the Conservation Area there are controls on new buildings, demolition and minor alterations of all (including unlisted) buildings. There are also restrictions on works to any trees. Full details of the Conservation Areas can be obtained from the Principal Planning Authority. In our area this is West Oxfordshire District Council.
